ASEE 2015 Abstract Submission Open

The abstract submission phase for the 2015 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition being held in Seattle, WA will open, September 2, 2014 is open

Abstracts will be accepted through October 19, 2014.  The Call for Papers for the various divisions are available on our website at http://www.asee.org/conferences-and-events/conferences/annual-conference/2015/program-schedule/call-for-papers .  Sunday Workshop and Distinguished Lecture Applications may also be submitted between September 2 andNovember 2, 2014.

The 2015 Annual Conference Author’s Kit contains extremely important information regarding the submission process as well as all relevant deadline dates and is available on our website at http://www.asee.org/conferences-and-events/conferences/annual-conference/2015 .  Please be advised, all authors are responsible for meeting all deadlines and requirements. Please be sure to read the Author’s Kit and refer to it whenever necessary.

Liability in a Lab

This UCLA case sends a powerful signal to universities. Better follow up with lab safety measures and avoid terrible consequences like students injuring or dying due to lab accidents. Chemical Engineering ABET accreditation criteria includes process safety. I think it is time that ALL engineering programs have some kind of disciplinary-related safety measures in their criteria.
